Streetlight Repair at 555 4th St China Basin

We are planning to do window cleaning in May and in September this year. The light posts on the sidewalk have a tail on the top, and may pose an obstacle for the window washers platform as the tail is close to our building. Would it be possible to remove or cut off the tails?
